Doughnut Sunday: Hosted by the Parish Men’s Club, it may be sponsored by parishioners who underwrite the cost in celebration, honor or memory of a loved one. It usually takes place the first Sunday of every month.  For sponsorship information, please contact Drew Hofmann at the parish office.

Finance Council: Canon Law requires that all parishes have an active Finance Council. This Council advises the Pastor pertaining to all financial matters of the parish. Its members are appointed by the Pastor and meet 6 to 7 times a year.

Flower/Church Decorations: Provides the floral decorations for our liturgical services at Easter, Christmas and throughout the year. Currently, members assume the responsibility for a weekly flower/plant arrangement for the month assigned to them. A second collection is taken at Mass twice a year to help cover expenses.

Home Visitors: Star of the Valley’s Eucharistic Minister Home Visitors bring Communion to those in our community who are too sick to come to church for Mass on the weekends. Our volunteers share their faith, compassion, and the support of the parish community with those in our parish who are homebound. It is always in Jesus’ name that we visit.

SOV Library: Our fireside library is located inside the Msgr. Fahey Parish Center. It has hundreds of books, CDs, DVDs, and VHS tapes that can be borrowed on the honor system, and is open during week days, 8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. It is also used as a meeting room.

Marthas: Parish volunteers set the tables at the Monsignor Fahey Parish Center for lunch and dinner events. They welcome anyone that can help with this task.

Men’s Club: This organization, which welcomes all men of the parish, works for the good of the parish family. Its aim is to create a vigorous, vital, living and active community. They help facilitate and host monthly Bingo Dinners and Donut Sundays that benefit the parish and wider community. They also put on an annual Pancake Breakfast that benefits the parish’s Neighbor-to-Neighbor program. Some members also help operate a bar service for funeral receptions when needed.

Neighbor-to-Neighbor: This program provides ongoing food assistance from “Nick’s Pantry” (housed in our Msgr. Fahey Parish Center) for those in need in our local area. Funds are used to buy Safeway gift-cards for pantry guests and for our annual Christmas Giveaway Program. Donations of non-perishable foods are requested, and occasional Pancake Breakfast help to raise funds in addition to collections taken at Masses for this outreach program.
