Men’s Club: In June of 1983, a Men’s Club came into existence under the chairmanship of the late and much loved Charlie O’Callaghan. This organization, which welcomes all men and friends of the parish, works for the good of the parish family. Its aim (like that of the Women’s Club) is to create a vigorous, vital, living and active community. This club sponsors and co-sponsors many parish activities, spiritual, social and charitable. Its purpose is twofold: supporting the parish, and building an involved community. Luncheons with guest speakers and social dinners are held throughout the year. Volunteers actively assist in many services to individual parish members. All men of the parish are invited to join and participate in the activities and fundraising.

Neighbor-to-Neighbor: This program provides ongoing food assistance from “Nick’s Pantry” (housed in our Msgr. Fahey Parish Center) for those in need. The annual Christmas Giveaway Program invites about 200 families, including almost 500 children, to receive food, Safeway and Target gift cards. Parishioner meal teams provide and serve dinner to the homeless at Sam Jones Hall in Santa Rosa. Catholic Charities’ Family Support Center and Caritas Village are also supported. Donations are requested and occasional collections are taken at Masses for these activities. Volunteers are needed to assist Nick’s Pantry guests, bring meals to Sam Jones Hall, and help before and at the Christmas Giveaway.

Women’s Club: The Women’s Club sponsors and coordinates many social and charitable efforts. A directory is printed and distributed annually. All women and friends of the parish are invited to join and participate. On March 26, 1982, 36 women gathered after Mass in the bottling room of St. Francis Winery to form an organization that would become known as the Star of the Valley Women’s Club. Their reason was to promote a family spirit and serve the needs of the parish. To make it vital and caring, its first president was the capable and talented Agnes Kolling. While the principal reason for its existence is not financial, the Women’s Club has generated a significant amount of money for the parish.
Currently on hiatus. Contact the Parish Office for more information.
